Gold prices today: 24-carat gold rises to Rs 77,740, silver climbs Rs 100

Gold prices saw a slight uptick in early trade on Friday, with the cost of 10 grams of 24-carat gold rising by Rs 10 to Rs 77,740, as per the GoodReturns website. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold also recorded a Rs 10 increase, trading at Rs 71,260 for 10 grams.
City-wise gold prices
- Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad: 10 grams of 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 77,740, while 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 71,260.
- Delhi: 24-carat gold stands at Rs 77,890 for 10 grams, while 22-carat gold costs Rs 71,410.
Silver prices trend upward
The price of one kilogram of silver rose by Rs 100, trading at Rs 91,700 in Mumbai. In Chennai, silver is costlier, priced at Rs 99,100, while in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, it stands at Rs 92,600 per kilogram.
Global market update
In international markets, spot gold dipped 0.2 per cent to $2,630.28 per ounce in light trading, but the precious metal is poised for weekly gains. Spot silver also fell by 0.2 per cent to $29.75 per ounce, while platinum edged up 0.1 per cent to $936.85.
Investors are closely watching economic cues from the US and speculating on the Federal Reserve's interest rate trajectory for 2025. This sentiment, along with policy expectations from the incoming Donald Trump administration, is expected to influence gold prices in the near term.
