Tatva Chintan IPO, HCL Tech to Wonderla Holidays - here are top Buzzing Stocks today

Benchmark indices recovered from the day’s low in the noon trade of Wednesday but were trading with losses of around a half per cent. At 1:07 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 250.94 points or 0.48% lower at 52,302.46. The Nifty 50 index was trading 90 points or 0.57% lower at 15,662.40. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks: 

Earnings Reactions

HCL Technologies: Down 2.09%. The IT major HCL Technologies has reported an 8.5% QoQ rise in the consolidated adjusted profit at Rs 3,214 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 2,962 crore in the previous quarter ended March 31, 2021. Besides, HCL Technologies on Monday said its founder Shiv Nadar has tendered his resignation as the MD as well as the Director with effect from close of the business hours on July 19, 2021. He will take on the role of Chairman Emeritus and Strategic Advisor to the company's board. The company has appointed C Vijayakumar - President and CEO of the company - as the Managing Director with the title of CEO and MD for five years with effect from July 20, it added.

ACC: Up 8.28%. The cement maker ACC Ltd has reported a 99.2% YoY rise in the profits at Rs 534 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 268 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Nippon Life: Down 0.14%. Private life insurer Nippon Life India Asset Management (NAM India) reported a 16% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 181.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 156 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Overall AUM market share rose to 7.25% - Up 13 Bps QoQ 

Mastek: Up 0.95%. The software company Mastek has reported a 5.9% QoQ rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 80.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2022. It had posted a profit of Rs 75.7 crore in the previous quarter ended March 31, 2021.

Supreme Petrochem: Down 3.32%. The petrochemical company has reported a consolidated profit of Rs 146.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. It had posted a loss of Rs 12 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Sequentially, the profit declined 36.7% QoQ from Rs 231 crore posted in the previous quarter ended March 31, 2021.

Plastiblends India: Down 4.38%. The company has reported an 8.1% YoY rise in the profits at Rs 6.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30., 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 6.2 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Swaraj Engines: Up 1.45%. The manufacturer of the diesel engines has reported a 330.8% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 33.6 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 7.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

IPO Update

Tatva Chintan Pharma IPO: Specialty chemicals manufacturing company Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem’s Initial Public Offering was subscribed 54.41 times on Tuesday, by 12:55 pm, the last day of subscription. The company has fixed a price band at Rs 1,073-Rs 1,083 per equity share. The company plans to raise Rs 500 crore through the offer. It comprises a fresh issue of Rs 225 crore and an offer for sale of up to Rs 275 crore by existing selling shareholders.

Clean Science: Up 8.04%. Nomura India Investment Fund Mother Fund bought 10 lakh shares @ Rs 1715.33/ share.
GR Infraprojects: Down 1.05%. The Nomura Trust and Banking Co. Ltd bought 5 lakh shares @ Rs 1714.6/ Share.

Wonderla Holidays: Up 0.06%. Wonderla Hyderabad is all set to open from 5th August

IGL: Down 1.78%. LIC decreased its stake in the company by 2.06% in Q1. 

ACC,  Down 2%. LIC bought a 1.32% stake in the company in Q1.

IndusInd Bank: Down 2.42%. The Board of Directors of the private lender is scheduled to meet on July 23, 2021, to consider and approve the proposal of raising funds through debt securities or equity instruments or convertible debt securities in any permitted mode such as through Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP).

Tata Steel (down 1.79%) + Jindal Stainless (down 1.12%): Tata Steel Mining and Jindal Stainless have signed an MoU to jointly unearth the Chrome Ore locked up in the boundary between their mines at Sukinda of Jajpur in Odisha.

Spicejet: Down 2.26%. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Monday that SpiceJet’s market share dropped from 9.4% MoM to 9% in June 2021

InterGlobe Aviation: Down 3.74%. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Monday that IndiGO’s market share declined from 55.3% MoM to 54.7% in June 2021. 

Zen Technologies: Up 5.59%. The company has been awarded a Rs 120-crore export contract. The simulators are the main focus of the order. The order will be carried out in roughly a year. 

Buzzing Stocks

HUL: Up 1.33%.

Shilpa Medicare: Up 1.70%.

Cement Stocks: Gaining. Stocks like Mangalam Cement – up 6.01%, Shree Digvijay – up 7.75%, ACC – up 7.11%, Sanghi Industries – up 2.66%, JK Cement – up 1.15%, and Birla Corp – up 2.91%. Meanwhile, all these stocks, except JK Cement stuck the life high in the intraday trade and Birla Corp hit the all-time high at 1,398 today.

Paint Companies: Moving up. Stocks like Berger – up 0.90% and Asian Paints – up 1.04% were trading higher.

Adani Group Stocks: Under pressure. Stocks like Adani Transmission, Adani Total Gas and Adani Energy stuck the lower circuit of 5%.
