Speaking on the bull run that Dalal Street witnessed in 2019 Prakash Pandey, MD & CEO at Plutus Advisors said, "The bull run in Dalal Street was mainly caused by the FIIs positive sentiments. DIIs also invested heavily in the Indian equity markets as they continued to show faith in the pro-active approach in regard to the national economy by Centre - in the form of reduction in corporate tax, reduction of Repo Rate by the RBI or GST slab change etc."
Apart from that, some geopolitical establishments also had a role in this bull run, especially in the December 2019 rally. This was mainly caused by the FII's investment in the private banks like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, said Pandey. He said that in public sector banks, SBI had a good run and is still showing upside swing in the long-term. The most important development outside India is a breakthrough in US-China trade talks and it will further boost the bull run at an ongoing rally at Indian indices.
