In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 24 stocks were trading in the green at the end of Monday’s trading session while the remaining 6 stocks were trading in the red at the closing time. The top 5 gainers on Monday at close were SBI, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, Larsen & Toubro and Axis Bank while the top 5 losers were Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy’s Lab, HCL Technologies, Titan and Bharti Airtel.

Meanwhile in the 50-share NSE Nifty 50, at the closing time 36 shares advanced, while the remaining 14 shares declined. Hindalco Industries, ONGC, SBI, Tata Steel and Coal India were the top 5 gainers on Monday. The top 5 losers in the day’s trade were Tech Mahindra, HDFC Life, BPCL, Dr Reddy’s Lab and HCL Technologies.
Major indices including Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Midcap 50 and Nifty Next 50 ended in the green on Monday.
Nifty Indices
- Among the sectoral indices, Nifty Bank ended 1.2 per cent up at 35,212.00
- Nifty auto was up 0.6 per cent at 10,746.45
- Nifty Realty was also up by over 2.7 per cent and ended at 354.00.
- Nifty PSU Bank ended at 2,545.35, up 0.9 per cent from the Friday closing.
- Nifty Metal, Nifty Media and Nifty FMCG ended in the green while Nifty Pharma and Nifty IT ended in the red on Monday.
Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 74.5075 on the BSE against the USD at 3:50 pm moving with a negative bias, up 0.54 per cent from the previous closing price on Friday.
