Opening Bell! Nifty, Sensex open higher amid improved global cues; banking, financial shares gain
The domestic equity market on Wednesday started higher amid improved global cues. Headlines indices S&P BSE Sensex and the Nifty50 opened at 56,599.47 and 16,865.55 respectively, on Wednesday.

The 12-share banking index, Nifty Bank, started at 34,865.25 and surged nearly 1 per cent to 34,937.00.

Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever, HCL Tech, ONGC, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, RIL, IndusInd Bank and NTPC surged the most, while Asian Paints, Dr Reddy's, Wipro, TCS, SBI Life, Nestle India declined the most.
In the pre-open, the Sensex opened 270.35 points higher to 56,589.36 as 27 shares advanced, 2 declined and 1 remained unchanged on the 30-share index.
On Wednesday, the Asian markets were back in the green as the majority of the indices advanced in the morning trade. Hang Seng Index at the Hong Kong Exchange was up1.12%, Japanese Nikkei 225 was trading higher by 0.10%, Asia Dow traded 0.25% positive and Shanghai Composite gained 0.10 % on Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, the US markets too ended positive as the Dow Jones gained 1.60%, Nasdaq Composite settled 2.40% higher and S&P 500 too added 1.78% in the closing yesterday.
