Metal Stocks, ITC to Tata Power - here are top Buzzing Stocks today

Domestic stocks markets were trading with minor cuts on Friday’s noon deals. At 12:46 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 47.56 points or 0.10% down at 48,643.24. The Nifty 50 index was trading with a fall of 38.15 points or 0.26% at 14,658.36. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks:

Metal Stocks: Under pressure as China iron ore prices crack. Stocks, like JSPL – down 8.64% NMDC – down 6.90%, Hindalco – down 4.94% and NALCO – down 4.07%, were trading low. Nifty Metal Index was also trading with a 2.53% decline.

Asian Paints &, Berger Paints: On fire. Asian Paints was trading 9.01% higher and Berger Paints was 2.70% up. 

ITC: Up for a third day, gains 5% in 3 days. Shares are trading 3.69% higher. 

Other consumption counters also surge. 

Earnings Reaction

Tata Power: Down 4.41%. The electric power distribution company has reported a 1.4% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 481 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 475 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. 

Lupin: Down 2.45%. The pharmaceutical company has reported an 18.6% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 464.4 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had reported a profit of Rs 391.3 crore in the same quarter last year. 

Apollo Tyres: Down 6.07%. The tyre company has reported a 267.9% YoY rise in consolidated profit at Rs 287 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had reported a profit of Rs 78 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year.

Piramal Enterprises: Down 3.61%. It has reported a consolidated loss of Rs 510 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, against a profit of Rs 1,703 crore posted in the same quarter of the last financial year. 

Granules: Under pressure for a third day and today down 3.56% and some other pharma names, like Aurobindo Pharma – down 0.41%, Sun Pharma – down 1.40%, Alkem – down 1.82%, Lupin – down 2.58% and Cadila Healthcare – down 2.88% among others, were under pressure. 

Bio Stocks Rally: Stocks, like Biocon – up 1.62%, Hester Biosciences – up 16.95%, Gufic BioSciences – up 3.97% and Nath Bio-Genes – up 7.35%, were trading higher.
