Markets Live Today: Highlights! Closing bell! THESE STOCKS gain as BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty 50 end on a positive note on expiry day

The stock markets today ended the day in the green. While the BSE Sensex closed at 51937.44, up by over 515 points or almost 1 per cent, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 was trading 15582 at the closing time on Monday, up by over 147.15 points or almost 0.95 per cent at the end of the trading session.

In the 30-share BSE Sensex, 22 stocks were trading in the green at the end of Monday’s trading session while the remaining 8 were trading in the red. The top five gainers on Monday at close were Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, JSW Steel, Dr. Reddy’s Labs and Bharti Airtel while the top 5 losers were M&M, Adani Ports, Infosys, Larsen and IndusInd Bank.

Meanwhile in the 50-share NSE Nifty 50, at the closing time 38 shares advanced while remaining 12 declined. Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, JSW Steel, Dr Reddys Labs and Bharti Airtel were the top 5 gainers.

The top 5 losers in the day’s trade were M&M, Adani Ports, Infosys, Larsen and IndusInd Bank.

•         Nifty Bank Index was up by 1.1 per cent at 35526.65

•         Nifty Pharma Index was up by 0.84 per cent at 14051.75
•         Nifty Media Index was down by 1.36 per cent at 1761.45
•         Nifty PSU Bank Index was down by 0.7% at 2426.3
•         Nifty IT Index closed flat at 27115.05
