Anil Singhvi decodes fall in US markets on Thursday, reveals strategy for investors

Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi said that issues in US markets will have limited impact on Indian market. He was speaking after yesterday's fall in US markets. He said that each and every market has its own set of problems. Indian markets are not performing well despite US market surging earlier because we have our own set of problems that are related to Covid issues. Despite US markets scaling new highs earlier, Indian markets had fallen sharply. In short, markets are dependent on Local as well as Global triggers.

Singhvi said the US markets were trading strong initially in yesterday’s session, until the news about the proposal of Biden administration of doubling the capital gains tax from 20% to 40% on the rich came. This is the issue of US markets and so they were down, this is not a bad news for global markets.

Singhvi said that yesterday’s fall in US markets was not related to bad news on the economic front or disappointing results from companies, it was because of capital gains tax issues. Also no negative news was there in terms of rise in interest rates, slowdown in liquidity which may impact the global markets negatively. Singhvi said that the fundamentals of the US markets are intact and rock solid.

Singhvi said that a fall of 300 points in US markets is not a big fall and participants should not worry. Singhvi said that Biden had clearly indicated before getting elected that he will slowly and steadily increase the tax rate. Market participants should not worry about the fall in US markets.

Singhvi said that Asian Markets like Hong Kong and Shanghai are trading in green. Dow futures are also trading in green, up by 50 points. Singhvi said that Investors in US markets may use this fall as a buying opportunity and may invest in equities. Minor negative news in a bull market is a good opportunity to buy.

Singhvi said that if the Indian markets will open with a good gap down then investors should use that as a buying opportunity. Singhvi said Gap up and Gap down opportunities should not be missed for trading.
