Railways' big festival 2020 plan! 200 special trains coming to meet massive demand
The Indian Railways is planning to run 200 special trains during the festival season from 15th October 2020 to 30th November 2020.
For those who are planning to celebrate the upcoming festivals at their native places but unable to book IRCTC tickets due to the lack of seat availability on Indian Railways trains, there is a piece of good news. The Indian Railways is planning to run 200 special trains during the festival season from 15th October 2020 to 30th November 2020. Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav made an announcement in this regard and said that the plan draft is ready and a formal announcement will be made soon.
Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said that due to the fast approaching festival season, the Indian Railways is planning to introduce special trains from 15th October to 30 November 2020. He said that the Board is waiting for the Corona report to come from across countries before making an announcement about the special Festival Trains. Yadav said that around 200 special trains will be run to meet the additional rush on the Indian Railway Traffic Services during the festival 2020 season.

Tejas Express may also start operation
The first private train, Tejas Express may also start operations during the festival season. The IRCTC has requested permission from the Indian Railways to start operations from 17th October 2020. So, if the IRCTC manages to get permission from the railway authorities, Tejas Express may also start its service during the festival season.
Special trains running till date
To connect the national capital New Delhi with various parts of the country, the Indian Railways started operations of 15 pairs of Rajdhani trains on 12th May 2020. Later on it started operations of 100 pairs of other trains from 1st June 2020. On 12th September 2020, Indian Railways started operations of an additional 80 trains making it a total of 180 pairs of trains along with 15 pairs of Rajdhani trains. 80 pairs of trains started from 12th September 2020 is called 'Clone Trains.'
Clone Trains have around 60 per cent occupancy and the Indian Railways is in mood to increase these trains on those routes where demand goes up. Yadav also informed that if the demand goes up during festival season on the current route, more clone trains will be introduced on that route.
To Indian Railways Wait Listed Ticket Booking, Yadav said that more clone trains will be required during the festival season and the special trains will fulfill that rise in demand on certain routes.
