IRCTC ticket booking discount of 10% on offer: Brilliant idea from Railways! To save money, just do this now

IRCTC ticket booking discount: With an aim to provide relief to train passengers and encourage railway commuting, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with brilliant idea. This move by the Indian Railways will also help commuters save some money. IRCTC, the Indian Railways ticketing arm, is offering discount on tickets that are available after chart preparation. Those booking tickets after chart preparation and when there is seat available will get 10 per cent discount on their tickets.  

Railways passengers must note that the Indian Railways train chart is being prepared 4 hours before the train's departure. The IRCTC ticket booking discount facility can be availed by passengers by booking current ticket half-an-hour before the train's departure. Current ticket booking facility is available on both IRCTC online platform as well as Railway platforms.

IRCTC ticket booking discount offer is available in all special trains of the Indian Railways, including intercity chair car trains.

In December 2020, IRCTC had launched a more user-friendly revamped website which is operational from January 1, 2021.

The new IRCTC upgraded website offers complete user personalization linked to the user login, such as the booking of meals, retiring rooms and hotels has been integrated and can be directly along with the tickets, thus providing a one stop solution for the needs of the traveller.

The new IRCTC website also offers predictive entry suggestions using Artificial Intelligence to be given to the passenger when he/she is entering the station. This will greatly reduce the hassle in searching stations and also save time in ticket booking. Simpler checking of the refund status at the user accounts page.  Earlier this feature was not easily accessible.
