IRCTC Northeast Tour Package: There is good news for the tourists! Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is chalking out a special plan to explore the immense tourist potential in North East.

Zee Business reporter Ambarish Pandey reported that the IRCTC is planning to explore the tourist potential of Northeast India. The IRCTC officials will discuss with state government officials of Guwahati and Tawang administrations regarding this initiative.

At the two-day 'Tourism and Culture Ministers Conference of the North Eastern States' in Guwahati, Rajni Hasija, Director, Tourism & Marketing, IRCTC emphasized on the development of railways, as part of tourism infrastructure in North East India.

The Ministry also tweeted about this from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "Smt. Rajni Hasija, Director, Tourism & Marketing, IRCTC emphasized on the development of railways, as part of tourism infrastructure in North East India."

Hasija also highlighted on the inclusion of innovative incorporations in railways such as Luxury trains, Dekho Apna Desh trains, Vistadome Coaches and other facilities. According to the report by Pandey, the best time for tourism in the Northeast is from October to December. It has also been informed that a final call will also be taken on what norms to follow for COVID-19 in this regard of the week-long meetings.

Incidentally, a few days ago, IRCTC launched its cruised tours. IRCTC is in talks with several large cruise operators to design more packages linked to cruise tours. Furthermore, Pandey reported that IRCTC is also bringing a package of bike tourism to Leh Ladakh.
