Aadhaar is a verifiable 12-digit identification number issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to the resident of India for free of cost. It is one of the most important documents to prove one's identity no misplacing it can be costly. However, there are several ways by which Aadhaar can be retrieved.
The recent tweet from the official Twitter handle of Aadhaar said, "Call 1947 or write to us at help@uidai.gov.in if you have lost your Aadhaar and/or enrolment slip. You may also retrieve your EID or Aadhaar at resident.uidai.gov.in/lost-uideid."

In order to retrieve one's Aadhaar or enrolment ID, one can simply call 1947. They can also send an e-mail at help@uidai.gov.in informing about the same.
There is another way of retrieving the lost Aadhaar online from home by following some simple steps. They are as follows:
Step 1: One has to login to official website of Aadhaar at uidai.gov.in
Step 2: The user will then have to select 'My Aadhaar' option present on the home page
Step 3: Now, the user will have to select 'Aadhaar services' option
Step 4: A new page will open; the user needs to select whether he or she wishes to retrieve his Aadhaar (UID) or Enrolment ID (EID)
Step 5: The individual will then have to enter the name, registered mobile number, enter the captcha verification and click on send OTP
Step 6: The user will receive the OTP on his or her registered mobile number which the person needs to enter
Having followed the above-mentioned steps, the person will be able to retrieve his or her lost UID or EID.
So, if someone has lost one's Aadhaar, one must not waste any more time and login to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in. By following the simple steps, one will be able to retrieve his or her Aadhaar.
