List of Documents for Aadhaar Enrolment: The Aadhaar is a verifiable 12-digit identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to the resident of India for free of cost. At present, the Aadhaar is one of the most important documents to prove one's identity. Recently, the Aadhaar has tweeted from its official Twitter handle regarding the documents accepted for Aadhaar enrolment or update.

The tweet from Aadhaar said, "Call 1947 or write to help@uidai.gov.in to get details of the acceptable documents for Aadhaar enrolment or update. The list is also available online at: uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/valid_documents_list.pdf or in your mAadhaar App."

One must remember that 1947 is the Aadhaar helpline number and it can be connected for any Aadhaar related query. One can also e-mail at help@uidai.gov.in in case of any queries.
Now, it has to be remembered for Aadhaar enrolment or update, there is a list of accepted documents under certain categories. The categories are as follows:
1) Proof of Identity documents containing name and photo
2) Proof of relationship of documents containing name of applicant and name of head of family
3) Date of Birth documents containing name and date of birth
4) Proof of Address documents containing name and address
There are a number of documents which are acceptable for Aadhaar enrolment or update. In order to check the list of documents, one has to login to the official Aadhaar website at uidai.gov.in.
The list of the documents is also available on the mAadhaar app. One must note that the mAadhaar app can be used anywhere anytime within India. mAadhaar is more than Aadhaar card in a wallet. On one hand, the mAadhaar profile is accepted as a valid ID proof by airports and railways. On the other hand, a resident can use the features in the app to share their eKYC or QR code with service providers who sought Aadhaar verification of their customers before providing Aadhaar services.
