UIDAI has also made several changes since the introduction of Aadhaar card in order to make it Aadhaar card holder friendly. Now eAadhaar or downloaded Aadhaar is an equally valid form of Aadhaar. UIDAI has also Aadhaar card holders to show the official circular on mAadhaar app if any authority refuses to accept the digital form.
But do you know Aadhaar card could also be made for children and newborns? You just need to furnish couple of certificates to enroll your newborn for Aadhaar.
UIDAI took to Twitter to inform the same, it posted, " Everyone can enroll for Aadhaar - even a newborn child. All you need is the child's birth certificate and #Aadhaar of one of the parents. Book an appointment from http://ask.uidai.gov.in #KidsAadhaar #BaalAadhaar #Identity #Appointment."
So how do you enroll your child or newborn for Aadhaar? Well, In order to do so, as tweeted by UIDAI, you need to book an appointment for the same. Follow these steps:
*Visit the ask.uidai.gov.in
*enter your mobile number or email id and captcha
*Hit on 'Send OTP' option to seek appointment
* Now you furnish the required documents I.e. child's birth certificate and Aadhaar of one of the parents
* Your appointment is booked, and you would be provided with Aadhaar card shortly by the UIDAI.
