Exit polls for the 5 state assembly elections are out with the voting of the 8th phase of the West Bengal assembly election concluding on Thursday. The polling were being were held in 5 states—West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Ahead of the result on May 2, exit polls are out and predict a tight contest between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP West Bengal assembly polls, while the ruling Left combine was projected to retain power in Kerala and BJP was set to take control of Assam.

As per CVoter projections, the TMC will retain Bengal and has given 158 seats ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party's 115 seats. The Republic-CNX poll predicted BJP wresting Bengal from Mamata. It gave BJP 143 seats and the TMC 133 seats. Axis My India showed a close fight between the TMC. As per Axis My India projections, the TMC will get 130 to 156 seats, while the BJP will win 134-160 seats.
Today's Chanakya, Axis My India and CVoter have projected the BJP as prospective winner in Assam.
In Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the ruling Left combine and the DMK-led opposition alliance respectively were projected ahead of their respective rivals.
Jan Ki Baat exit polls, however, predicted a strong majority for the BJP in West Bengal, giving it 162-185 seats, against 104-121 to the ruling TMC.
Overall, exit polls also projected DMK-led opposition alliance a winner in Tamil Nadu, while the Congress-led alliance was seen losing the neighbouring Puducherry by some pollsters.
