Travelling by Rajdhani Express? Here is good news for these cities

There is a piece of good news for Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express travellers. Mumbai's first Rajdhani from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) is running for a trial from today for the next few days to reduce the travelling time. The train is expected to run for five days a week, which totally depends on the trial. Adding two locomotives to each end has been a successful move as the train will now be able to increase the speed and reduce the travelling time, reported DNA.

Travelling time between CSMT and Hazrat Nizamuddin station of Rajdhani Express has been reduced from Saturday by the Central Railway. 

Earlier the travelling time of Rajdhani Express was over 19 hours, which will now be less than 18 hours. Also, the train schedule has been revised. Now, the train will depart from CSMT at 4.10 pm instead of 2.50 pm, and shall reach its destination at 10.05 am the next day.

It will take less travelling time as compared to before. Push-pull method, which was adopted by the railways last month, has helped the railway to make a change in its services. 

Sunil Udasi, Chief PRO, Central Railway was quoted as saying, "This is just a trial that will go on for a few days now,"

According to CR officials, the train has been saving a lot of time since the push-pull method was adopted in February. The method helps the train navigate the ghat sections, without stopping. The push-pull method involves attaching an engine at the front and at the back of the train, instead of attaching two engines at the front.

Moreover, they will be running for five days a week. Talking about the schedule, Rajdhani train will leave from CSMT every Wednesday and Saturday at 2.50 pm and arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 10.20 am the next morning. It will depart Hazrat Nizamuddin every Thursday and Sunday at 4.15 pm and arrive at CSMT at 11.55 am. It has been a great move by the railways as after 27-years, Mumbai got a new Rajdhani train in January this year. So far the train has received a decent demand from passengers.
