Thugs of Hindostan Box Office collection: After a record-setting day 1, Aamir Khan starrer witnessed the widest release for any Bollywood film. The film, which has been released in 5000 screens in the domestic market, casting Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Katrina Kaif, has seen a fall in its collection. Despite the big fall, it must be remembered that the film has witnessed one of the highest day 2 collection figures in Bollywood.
In 2018, just two other Bollywood movies managed to earn more. There was Sanjay Dutt starrer Sanju with Rs 34.74 crore collection and Salman Khan starrer Race 3 with Rs 29.17 crore - on their day 1!
Nevertheless, the negative reviews from audiences and film critics have taken a toll on Thugs of Hindostan collection on day 2. After raking in massive Rs 52.25 crore on opening day (Rs 50.75 cr in Hindi alone), the Bollywood multi-starrer film has managed to earn Rs 29.25 crore on day 2, taking its India collection to Rs 81.50 crore.
The movie managed to grab Rs 123 cr over its opening weekend, making Thugs of Hindostan to become Aamir Khan’s highest opening weekend grosser. The total collection of the film till now has so far surpassed the business of Aamir’s previous releases like Dhoom 3 that collected Rs 107.61 cr, Dangal that collected Rs 107.01 cr, PK that collected Rs 95.41 cr, Talaash that collected Rs 47.10 cr, 3 Idiots that collected Rs 40.65 cr and Dhobi Ghaat that collected Rs 10.05 cr. All thanks to the extended holiday weekends.
