Student Of The Year 2 box office collection day 1: The film starred by Tiger Shroff and debutant actress Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, hit theatres with a bang on Friday. The film collected Rs 12.06 crore on the first day even as the footfall thinned during the evening, according to film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh. However, according to film trade analyst and critic Sumit Kadel, the movie earned Rs 11 cr on the first day. The sequel to 2012 Student of the Year was released at a time when Avengers: Endgame is ruling the box office across the country.
The Punit Malhotra directorial venture has a big challenge of pulling the audience to the theatres while Avengers: Endgame is still doing well at the box office. The weekend collections will reveal a lot more about its potential. Student Of The Year 2 has to battle many odds to rule the box office.
"#StudentOfTheYear2 puts up a fairly good total on Day 1... Biz slowed down towards evening shows... Sat and Sun crucial... Substantial growth - especially at plexes - is essential for a healthy total... Fri ₹ 12.06 cr. India biz. #SOTY2 is Tiger’s second highest opener *so far*," Adarsh tweeted today.
"#SOTY2 collected ₹ 11 cr as per my prediction. Saturday & Sunday biz should escalate," Kedel tweeted. He said that film has a correct dose of entertainment, good music and engaging screenplay. Performance of the actors is fantastic in every aspect. Debutant Ananaya shines, Aditya did complete justice to his part and Tara is mediocre, Kadel said.
We have to wait and watch for a couple of days to get a more clear picture of its future collection.
