Stock Markets Today: BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty up almost 1.5 pct on Tuesday; Ultratech Cement, TCS among top gainers
Both the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were up by around 1.5 per cent at the close. While the Sensex was trading at 38,492.95, up by over 558 points at the end of day’s trade, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 closed at 11,300.55, up by over 168 points
After a negative Monday closing, the stock markets today bounced back strongly posting significant gains in the day’s trade. Both the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were up by around 1.5 per cent at the close. While the Sensex was trading at 38,492.95, up by over 558 points at the end of day’s trade, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 closed at 11,300.55, up by over 168 points.
In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 25 stocks were trading in the green at the time of closing while the remaining 5 were ended in the red. The top gainers on Tuesday were Ultratech Cement, TCS, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki while the top losers at close were ICICI Bank, Nestle India, Asian Paints, ONGC and ITC.
Meanwhile, Ultratech Cement, Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS, Grasim Industries and Tata Motors were the top gainers on Nifty Fifty on Tuesday in the closing trade. The top losers were ICICI Bank, Bharti Infratel, Nestle India, Asian Paints and ONGC.
Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 74.8575 around against the USD at 4:30 am on BSE.

On Monday, the Sensex ended at 37,934.73, falling by almost 0.5 per cent while the Nifty 50 closed at 11,131.80, also down by over 0.5 per cent.
