Solar Eclipse 2022: Doors of Badrinath-Kedarnath temple to remain closed - here is why
Solar Eclipse 2022: Chief Administrative officer of Shri Kedarnath-Badrinath Temple Committee told news agency ANI that after the eclipse, puja will be performed in the evening.
Solar Eclipse 2022: The doors of popular Hindu shrines–Badrinath and Kedarnath will remain closed today due to the solar eclipse. According to beliefs, negative energy is emitted by the planetary bodies during the solar eclipse and this can harm the idols. Thus, the doors that let the sun's rays in have been closed.

All the major temples in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been closed on Tuesday on account of the solar eclipse. All the rituals have also been suspended at these temples.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD)-run Venkateswara temple at Tirumala in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh was shut at 8 am on Tuesday and will reopen at 7.30 pm the same day. All the temples under TTD management have also been closed due to the solar eclipse today.
In Vijayawada district, the famed Kanaka Durga temple's doors were closed at 11 am on Tuesday and will be opened again at 6 am on Wednesday. Similarly, the Simhachalam temple near Visakhapatnam, and the Arasavilli temple in Srikakulam district were closed on Tuesday.
In neighbouring Telangana, the Yadadri temple will remain shut for over 12 hours beginning 8.50 am on Tuesday. Entry for devotees to the temple will be allowed from 10.30 am onwards on Wednesday. The Ram temple at Bhadrachalam has been closed for the day as have other major temples in the state.
The partial eclipse is set to begin at 5.01 pm and end at 6.26 pm on Tuesday.
Solar Eclipse or Surya Grahan will be visible in India today. The partial Solar Eclipse will be seen from several cities. Surya Grahan occurs when the Moon, the only natural satellite of Earth, comes in between the Sun and Earth. The Moon blocks sunlight from reaching the surface of Earth. Today's celestial event will be the partial Solar Eclipse.

The partial Solar Eclipse will be seen from several cities in the evening, mostly in northern and western cities.

Avoid watching the solar eclipse with the naked eye. It is suggested to use special eye protection or indirect viewing methods to watch the Solar Eclipse.
Another way to watch a solar eclipse is indirect projection. It is considered to be the safest way of watching the solar eclipse. One can watch a solar eclipse using a telescope, pinhole camera or camera display as well.
