Income Tax department has underlined teh need for taxpayers to hurry. According to income tax rules, if PAN is not linked with Aadhaar till this date, then your PAN will become inoperative. Failing to which your PAN will become inoperative, which will create difficulties in filing I-T returns.
PAN-Aadhaar linking: The Income-Tax department has advised taxpayers to link their permanent account number (PAN) with Aadhaar card as early as possible. Notably, the deadline to link PAN with Aadhaar is tomorrow i.e, December 31. So, make sure you get cracking and here we show you how to link Pan with Aadhaar.
The I-T department in a statement said, "Building a better tomorrow! To reap seamless benefits of income tax services, complete the vital link before 31st December, 2019".

Steps to check if your PAN Aadhaar linking is done:
To check whether your PAN card is already linked with the Aadhaar card, log on to the official website of the income tax department - incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
How to link Pan with Aadhaar:
1. To link the two, you need to click on 'Link Aadhaar'option on the website ie, incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
2. You will be redirected to a new page where you need to fill all information like your PAN Card number, Aadhaar number and your updated details such as name, DOB etc.
PAN-Aadhaar linking through message:
If you are unable to link your PAN with Aadhaar by logging in at the income tax website, you can do this through a simple SMS as well.
1. You just need to send SMS on 567678 or 56161. Format of the SMS is UIDPAN<SPACE><12 digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10 digit PAN>.
