IMD predicts active monsoon conditions in most northwestern regions over next 4-5 days

Monsoon Rainfall Prediction: Active monsoon conditions are likely in most of the northwestern regions in the country over the next 4-5 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) - the national weather forecaster - posted on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter). 

The weather agency also predicted an "increase in rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls" over the eastern parts of the country from Tuesday, July 30.

Earlier on Sunday, the IMD shared daily updates about significant rainfall across various parts of the country due to active monsoon conditions.

In Madhya Pradesh, widespread heavy rains have been reported, with the possibility of isolated 'very heavy' showers. Coastal Karnataka and Kerala are also seeing substantial rainfall, which has led to flooding in some areas.

The heavy downpours have caused disruptions and posed risks to residents.

The IMD's forecast indicates that these intense rainfall patterns are likely to continue, with potential impacts extending to other parts of the country.

Areas already experiencing heavy rain should be prepared for further precipitation, and residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
