Coronavirus cure: At a time when the country is witnessing more than three lakh fresh COVID-19 infections and thousands of COVID-related deaths every day, fear is a common phenomenon. People are looking at ways and means to stay away from the COVID-19 infection. Several claims on how to keep oneself safe from the virus have gone viral all over the social media. However, the verification of these claims is a must as all are not true and following them without proper knowledge and evidence may cause more harm.

As per a report by dnaindia.com, recently a claim that two drops of lemon juice can increase oxygen saturation level in the body and protect one from coronavirus, is going viral. When patients are suffering from an acute crisis of oxygen and people are running from pillar to post in search of an oxygen cylinder, such a claim is bound to get attention.
A video is being shared where a person is claiming that this 'lemon therapy' not only boosts immunity but also saves people from the deadly COVID-19 infection. The man advised people to put two drops of lemon juice in their nostrils and claims that by doing this, all the main organs including eye, ear, nose and heart would be purified in just five seconds. In the video, the man further claims, "This will also provide relief to those who are facing all cold and cough illnesses."
PIB Fact Check reacted against this viral video and said that the claim made in the video is fake. The official Twitter handle of PIB Fact Check tweeted, "A video is being shared on social media which claims that putting just 2 drops of lemon juice in the nose will kill Coronavirus immediately. #PIBFactCheck: - The claim made in the video is # fake. There is no scientific evidence that # Covid19 can be eliminated by adding lemon juice to the nose."

PIB has clearly stated that there is no scientific evidence that can prove that COVID-19 can be cured by putting two drops of lemon on the nose. These baseless claims on social media misguide the common people so it is advised that the people must not believe in any viral claims without proper evidence for their own good.
