The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has warned the Indian Railways passengers about fraudulent emails they may have received under the PSU's name. The exclusive e-ticketing partner of the Indian Railways said that the users should be alert against any emails from unknown sources and should avoid opening attachments from unknown sources. IRCTC said that fraudsters are sending emails that appear to be from IRCTC and contain malicious attachments. It claims that these attachments could have a virus that can harm your device.
What IRCTC Wants Users to do
IRCTC advises users to delete these emails immediately. "Any emails sent from IRCTC to its users, will not have any attachments, and will be signed by an individual by name. Never open attachments from unknown sources. For your safety, it is advised to delete any such suspicious mails," it said.
IRCTC Fight Against Fraudsters
The platform can be used by Indian Railways passengers for ticket booking, cancellation, tatkal tickets, refunds, TDR request, hotel booking, flight ticket booking, tourism packages. The platform has also issued several guidelines that help users deal with fraudsters. IRCTC is committed to providing a safe online experience to its users following which it has cautioned the users about malicious emails in circulation.

Service Charges Cut
The platform had recently informed that it plans to reduce service charges for customers paying through UPI/BHIM applications like Paytm, PhonePe or Google Pay. It said that a convenience fee of Rs 10 will be charged per ticket for non-AC class passengers. The same will be set at Rs 20 for AC classes, including the first class.
As of now, the customers need to pay a convenience fee of Rs 15 for every non-AC e-ticket and Rs 30 for every AC ticket if the payments are made through any BHIM or UPI applications.
