India Post Office recruitment 2018: In a recently published notification, India Post invited applications for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). Under, the India Post Recruitment 2018 notification, India Post will be hiring more than 1058 candidates for the aforementioned post. India Post Office recruitment 2018 Age Limit for General Category: Applicants age should be between 10 and 40 years on March 9, 2018. Reserved Categories: Relaxation of maximum three years will be given to candidates belonging to OBC category and five years to those belonging to SC/ST categories. Relaxation of 10 years will be provided to Physically Handicapped candidates and this relaxation will be above the age limit mentioned category wise.
Qualification: Every candidate applying for the post should have passed matriculation (class 10th) from any approved boards of state or central government.
Note: Candidates, who passed class 10 examination in the first attempt will be treated as meritorious. However, no weightage for candidates with higher qualifications.
Mandatory qualification: Candidates applying for the post should possess the basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognised computer training institute / central government/state government/university/boards.
Note: Relaxation will be provided to candidates who have studied computer as a subject in CLass X / Class XII / higher educational qualification.

Application Fee
General and OBC: Rs 100 for each set of five options.
SC/ST/ PH/Women candidates: They are exempted from payment of fees.
Note: Every candidate applying for the post will have to visit an identified Post Office in the circle, where online notification is available to make the payment. Locate the Post Offices on the website http://appost.in/gdsonline.
How to Apply for
India Post Office recruitment 2018:
To apply for the post, the interested candidates will have to log on to https://indiapost.gov.in or http://appost.in/gdsonline.
Note: Candidates already registered in http://appost.in/gdsonlineneed will use the previous registration number to fill the form. Forgot registration will help the candidate to retrieve the registration number.
The process of Selection:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit list that will be generated automatically. The list will be based on his/her applications.
Marks obtained in class 10th is the only criteria of selection. Percentage of marks obtained in 10th standard aggregated to the accuracy of 4 decimals will be the criteria for finalizing the selection of a candidate. No weightage for higher educational qualification.
For candidates getting same marks: The selection will be based on merit in which merit will be based on the date of birth. Higher age will be considered a merit
Selection will be made circle wise and preference will be given as per the order of his/her choice of the circle. For this purpose, candidates will be allowed to opt for the circle/s for the posts in their application.
Candidates final appointment will be based on the verification and genuineness of their educational and other documents by the concerned appointing authorities.
Note: Candidates uploading wrong documents/information for
India Post Office recruitment 2018 will be disqualified. Similarly, mentioning erroneous marks ( high or low marks ) will also lead to disqualification.
