IMD Prediction Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts in some parts of the country. The IMD has also forecasted heavy to extreme rainfall in several other regions of the country.

The Met department has forecasted heavy rain in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal over the next few days. Light to moderate rainfall activity, with isolated heavy to very heavy showers, across Odisha till Friday, has been forecasted by the IMD. The fisherfolks in Odisha have also been advised against going to deep seas along and off the coast of Odisha till July 30, 2021.
The IMD has issued red alert over the state of Himachal Pradesh. IMD has forecasted that heavy to very heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh between July 26 and 28. Furthermore, heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected in Punjab and East Uttar Pradesh on July 27 and July 28. Extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh.
Over the next three days, widespread rainfall is very likely over Konkan and Goa, and the Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra.
The death toll reaches to 207 in flood-hit Maharashtra. Since June 1, as many as 294 people have died in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra.
