How to buy FASTag online: Drivers beware! Deadline December 1, pay penalty if you miss it

FASTag Online Purchase: The Ministry of Transport and National Highways has made it mandatory for all vehicle owners to buy FASTag for smooth and non-stop passage from all Toll Plazas across India. The move aims to promote digital payments and transparency in Toll Plaza pricing and its payment. In this move, each and every Toll Plaza on the National Highway will have to create a separate 'FASTag Lane' that will be for those vehicle owners who have bought FASTag. Such vehicle owners need not stop at the Toll Plaza to pay, however, for those vehicle owners who haven't bought FASTag but trespass into the 'FASTag Lane' will have to face a penalty and pay as much as double of the Toll Plaza charges. FASTag will also help control the environment around the Toll Plaza as there will be no queues of vehicles leaving smoke at the Toll Plaza. 

How to buy FASTag online:
One can buy FASTag offline by visiting around 28,500 FASTag sales centers. These have been set up by IHMCL or NHAI. Also, one can do FASTag Online Purchase through various banks like SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank  and even Paytm, Amazon..

Those who are still not able to locate the center where they can buy FASTag, can download the My FASTag App on their mobile phones and find the nearest entry where they can buy FASTag. FASTag can be recharged online through credit card, debit card, net banking or any other mode of payment. So, it's time for the vehicle owners to buy FASTag and avoid queuing in lines and polluting the environment at Toll Plaza.
