Coronavirus India: Central Government has decided to extend the last date for Driving Licence renewal, Motor Permit ad Motor Registration till 30th June 2020.
Coronavirus in India: In the wake of Coronavirus spread and complete lockdown till 14th April 2020, the Central Government has decided to extend the last date for Driving Licence renewal, Motor Permit ad Motor Registration till 30th June 2020. Those whose Driving Licence, Motor Permit and Motor Registration have expired in February can have a sigh of relief as the last date has been extended by an extra three months. This decision would help the government maintain the transportation and logistics system as in the case of DL, Motor Permit and Motor Registration expiry, there were chances of facing a shortage of driers, commercial motors, etc.
As quoted by PTI, the Central Government has taken this decision due to the problems for the people to renew their DL, Motor Permit ad Motor Registration due to the Coronavirus lockdown. The news agency went on to add that due to the COVID-19 spread, the transport department offices are also closed and hence, those who manage to reach the transport department office as essential service providers during the lockdown, are unable to renew their DL, Motor Permit and Motor Registration. So, the government decided to extend the DL, Motor Permit and Motor Registration renewal date by an additional three months and issued notification that those DL, Motor Permit and Motor Registration that have expired on 1 st February 2020, will be allowed to operate till 30th June 2020.
