Gold Box Office collections: Akshay Kumar starrer crosses Rs 100 cr mark in worldwide earnings

Gold Box Office collections: The Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy starrer is a hit with the public across the world. The movie has again highlighted the fact that Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood. Receiving love from all quarters, the movie is enjoying a better run than John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate. However, the competition has definitely hurt the collections of both movies, but that has not stopped either of them from being successful. Gold, a Reema Kagti directorial, is inspired by Indian Hockey team’s historic win at 1948 Olympics. Akshay Kumar plays the role of the team manager, Tapan Das. Now, Gold has gone on to cross Rs 100 cr mark in its worldwide collections. 
 
Gold had hit a total of 4000 screens in India. The daywise breakup of the collections for India goes like this: Day 1 (Wed) – Rs 25.25 Cr; Day 2 (Thu) – Rs 8.10 Cr; Day 3 (Fri) – Rs 10.10 Cr; Day 4 (Sat) – Rs 12.30 Cr; Day 5 (Sun) – Rs 15.55 Cr; Day 6 (Mon) – Rs 4 Cr; Day 7 (Tue) – Rs 4 Cr; Day 8 (Wed) – Rs 6 Cr; and total net amount is Rs 85.30 Cr while the total domestic gross is approx Rs 109.36 Cr. This is for India collections and when worldwide earnings are added, the total jumps higher. Here are the takings: North America (USA and Canada) – Rs 4.04 Cr as of Aug 19; United Kingdom – Rs 1.04 Cr – as of Aug 19; Australia – Rs 0.52 Cr – As of Aug 19; New Zealand – Rs 0.39 Cr – As of Aug 19; Malaysia – Rs 0.01 Cr – As of Aug 19; Germany – Rs 0.04 Cr – As of Aug 19; and total worldwide gross stands at Rs 115.40 Cr, according to Bollywood Hungama.
 
The report said that trends / figures are still being compiled, and figures in India are NETT, while overseas figures are gross. 
 
Notably, apart from Akshay Kumar, the star cast of the film also includes Sunny Kaushal, Vineet Kumar Singh, Kunal Kapoor and Amit Sadh.

Gold is also TV actor Mouni Roy's Bollywood debut. In a recent media interview, she shared that she was elated with the audience response to her film. Mouni Roy plays Akshay Kumar’s wife in the film.
