Informing about the symptoms of the virus, Dr Maheshwari said that in the second wave of the pandemic more symptoms have been noticed in addition to the earlier ones. She added that earlier we said that if a person is having high fever, cough, body pain, nose blockage, etc. then the person may have got infected with the virus as these were the symptoms.

But this time in addition to these symptoms a person can also show symptoms like stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, red eyes (conjunctivitis), swollen hands and legs, discolouration of hands and legs, headache etc, she added.
She added if anyone feels that they are suffering from any of these symptoms, or are observing a difference in their normal routine then they should stay alert.
The doctor was asked if a person can get infected with the virus while staying at home as this is the time of seasonal changes, which also causes cold and cough, then in such cases how can it be identified?
The doctor said that the chances to get infected is very less if a person stays at home and does not have any contact with the outer world as the virus spreads from one individual to another. But if you allow any person to come and work at your house or get a courier service or order something online then in such cases also a person is prone to get infected.
Therefore it is very important that if you are observing any symptoms of coronavirus or even of a flu you are advised to immediately isolate yourself and contact any doctor in your area and undergo the required treatment. If you feel that you are facing more issues in one or two days then get tested, the doctor added.
