Flyers alert! Pay more for flying from Delhi airport starting December 1!
The PSF-facilitation will be $1.93 for tickets issued in foreign currency. Earlier, Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) had sought a hike in charges. It said that the “base airport charges” had fallen below the level assured by the state support agreement under which IGIA was privatised in 2006.
For travelling by air, you will have to fork out more from December 1, 2018, as the airport has hiked various charges. Now, the outgoing air passengers will have to pay Rs 77 as passenger service fee (PSF)-facilitation (taxes extra). This will be in place of the user development fee, which is at present Rs 10 for domestic passengers and Rs 45 for international passengers, according to a Times of India report.

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India has approved the hike, the report said.
On top of these charges, a Rs 500 fuel throughput charge per kilo litre will be imposed at IGIA from next month. There is also surcharge for peak hour aircraft landing of 5 percent for international landings between 11.01pm and 12 midnight. There is also 5 percent rebate for landing between 1.01pm and 4pm.
There is also 25 percent surcharge for Supersonic aircraft. Some airline officials reportedly said that a 3-7 percent hike in airfares may be necessitated to meet the higher airport charges.
Federation of Indian Airlines, an umbrella organisation representing IndiGo, Jet Airways, SpiceJet and GoAir said application of basic airport charges would have an adverse impact on airlines and passengers, according to the report.
The International Air Transport Association had also opposed the increased fuel charges.
The aviation ministry earlier ended the user development fee of Rs 207-933 for arriving passengers, and cut down to Rs 10 for departing passengers and Rs 45 for international flyers from Rs 566-1,131.
