Earthquake of 4.5 magnitude jolts Nepal

Earthquake: On Saturday at 11:12 a.m., a 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck Kathmandu, Nepal. So far, no casualties have been reported. The depth of the earthquake was 178 kilometres, and the epicentre was 28 kilometres from Kathmandu, Nepal. The National Center for Seismology tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.5, Occurred on 01-04-2023, 11:12:30 IST, Lat: 27.65 & Long: 85.60, Depth: 178 Km, Location: 28km ESE of Kathmandu, Nepal."

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Nepal earlier today at 3:04 a.m. (IST), according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The quake occurred at a depth of 25 kilometres, according to NCS. NCS tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 01-04-2023, 03:04:30 IST, Lat: 27.78 & Long: 85.25, Depth: 25 Km, Location: 10km NW of Kathmandu, Nepal."

Nepal was jolted by tremors of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake in February this year as well. The quake struck near Bichhiya in Bajura district at 13:45 (local time) on February 22, according to Nepal's National Earthquake Monitoring & Research Center (NEMRC). "A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred around Bichhiya in Bajura district at 13:45 NEMRC/SC," NEMRC tweeted.
