Earthquake in Delhi, Noida, NCR Today: Tremors were felt in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, NCR and other adjoining regions on Sunday evening around 5:45 PM.
Reportedly, the magnitude was 3.5 and epicentre was Delhi, and that's why tremors were felt strongly.
IMD has confirmed that epicentre of the earthquake in East Delhi, 3.5 on Richter scale.
As of now, there is no report of loss of lives.
Despite 21-day lockdown in place, people came out of their house as panic gripped them due to tremors.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "Tremors felt in Delhi. Hope everyone is safe. I pray for the safety of each one of you."
A mild-intensity earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale was felt in the national capital and its surrounding regions on Sunday.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake, with a depth of 8-km, occurred at 5:45 pm.
No injury or damage to property has been reported.
Earlier, on April 6, mild tremors hit parts of Palghar district in Maharashtra in the wee hours of Monday. No casualty or damage to property was reported. The tremor of magnitude 3.1, with its epicentre at Dundalwadi village, was felt around 12.15 am, Thane Municipal Corporation's regional disaster management cell chief Santosh Kadam said.
Last week also a mild intensity tremor was experienced in and around Dundalwadi.
Palghar's Dahanu area has been experiencing such tremors since November 2018, with most of them centered around Dundalwadi village.
