Derivatives Data Analysis For traders: All you need to know about it
Dow Jones closed at 29480 levels (up 1.37% / 400 points) which indicates strength in global markets because of which SGX Nifty also closed strongly. FII's have been on a strong buying spree for the past few sessions, it would be interesting to see after a strong opening, traders see follow up buying or some profit booking at higher levels.
SGX Nifty closed around 12788 (up 0.64% / 82 points )levels indicating a gap up opening for Indian markets in Friday's session. Dow Jones closed at 29480 levels (up 1.37% / 400 points) which indicates strength in global markets because of which SGX Nifty also closed strongly. Derivatives summary:
Nifty November futures closed at a premium of 33.45 points versus a premium of 15.20 points yesterday. The market added Rs 43113 cr in open interest, taking the total open interest in the F&O segment to Rs. 435512 cr. The Nifty call option added 71.16 lakh shares in open interest and the put option added 92.66 shares in open interest. JUBLFOOD (21%), EICHERMOT (16%), IDEA (14%) IDEA (12%) and MGL (12%) were the top gainers in terms of open interest. TORNTPHARM (-14), PAGEIND (-14%), IBULHSGFIN (-13%), M&MFIN (-11%) and RECLTD (-10%) were the top losers in terms of open interest. Overall futures & options volumes currently stand at 182.05 lakh contracts, with a turnover of Rs 1457284 cr. Volumes in the F&O segment were lower as compared to the previous trading session
Market commentary
Yesterday, benchmark indices opened with a loss of 70 points in line with negative cues from global markets. Thereafter, the Nifty stayed range bound till the first half. In the afternoon, the index recovered due to buying in banking stocks. The Nifty FMCG and media indices closed in the red, while the Nifty metal, Pharma and Realty indices closed in the green zone. Stocks like EICHERMOT, BAJAJFINSV, COALINDIA, TATASTEEL and DIVISLAB were top gainers that rose by 2-3%, while stocks like TATAMOTORS, LT, HDFC, HDFCBANK and UPL were top losers that fell by 1-2%. The Nifty closed at around 12754 levels with a gain of 0.40%.
Daily view:
About 1.56 lakh shares were shed in open interest with an increase in prices this indicates that long build-up was observed by market participants. On the options front, the volatility index decreased by 4.44%.
