Covid-19: India reports 235,532 new cases; daily positivity rate at 13.39% over last 24 hrs

India reported 235,532 New Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours taking India's Active Caseload to 20,04,333 according to a release by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The above data is till 7 am today. The Weekly Positivity Rate stood at 16.89 per cent and the Daily Positivity rate also reported to be 13.39 per cent.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate stands at 93.89 per cent over this period. Around 335,939 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) was at 3,83,60,710 as of 7 am today.

On the vaccination front, more than 56 lakh Doses (56,72,766) vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, according to the claims by the government. This takes India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage in excess of 165.04 Cr (165,04,87,260) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

This has been achieved through 180,50,126 sessions. 

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded, the release said. The last 24 hours saw a total of 17,59,434 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 72.57 Cr (72,57,74,705) cumulative tests.
