CM Kejriwal urges L-G Anil Baijal to allow Chhath Pujas celebration in Delhi amid improved COVID situation
Kejriwal said that the Covid-19 situation has improved and that permission can be given to celebrate the festival at public places.
After reviewing the COVID-19 situation, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged Delhi L-G Anil Baijal to allow Chhath celebration in the National Capital.
The Delhi CM has written a letter to the L-G mentioning: "The COVID situation is better in Delhi. In my view, we should permit Chhath Puja, following all the COVID protocol."

In a tweet shared today in the morning, Kejriwal said that the Covid-19 situation has improved and that permission can be given to celebrate the festival at public places. "I have urged Hon’ble LG to allow Chhath Puja celebrations in Delhi. Corona is now in control and many other states have allowed it," he tweeted.
Earlier on Wednesday, Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that the city government wants to allow Chhath Puja celebrations at public places. He had even appealed to the Centre to issue revised guidelines.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia as well had written a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya urging to issue a guideline for the Chhath festival as soon as possible, following consultation with health experts.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in its order on September 30, had prohibited Chhath at riverbanks, water bodies and other public places in view of the COVID situation.
