Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing: ISRO's most ambitious third Lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3's lander called Vikram, and rover called Pragyan, are expected to touch down near the Moon's south polar area on Wednesday, August 23 in the evening.
Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has finally announced the date and time for the landing of the Lander Module (LM) on the surface of the moon. ISRO's most ambitious third Lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3's lander called Vikram, and rover called Pragyan, are expected to touch down near the Moon's south polar area on Wednesday, August 23 in the evening. If the manoeuvre becomes successful, then India will become the fourth country after the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union to master the technology of soft landing on the lunar surface. Moreover, India will be the first country to reach the unknown south pole of Earth's sole natural satellite.
Chandrayaan-3, which is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2, has set its objectives to show safe and soft landings on the lunar surface, roving on the moon, and conduct in-situ scientific experiments.

Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing: Lander Payload Details
Lander payloads include the Langmuir Probe (LP) — which will estimate the plasma density and its variations, Chandra's Surface Thermophysical Experiment (ChaSTE) to measure the thermal conductivity and temperature, the Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) to measure the seismicity around the landing site, and Chandra's Surface Thermophysical Experiment (ChaSTE) to measure the thermal conductivity and temperature. For lunar laser ranging investigations, the space agency NASA has also provided a passive Laser Retroreflector Array.
Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing: Rover Payload Details
The Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS) and Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) are rover payloads that are used to determine the elemental composition close to the landing site.
