Speaking on the same Dr Naveet Wig, chairperson of Covid-19 task force at AIIMS, said that corona is a viral disease that mainly impacts the lungs and other organs are affected in a minor way. In fact, Covid-19 should be treated as lung disease, he added.

He said that patients who require oxygen are provided anticoagulation medicines to avoid clotting. But he assured that it does not create any extra problems. He said that people need to follow the routine and take a proper diet.
The doctor added that patients with severe Covid-19 infection need to take extra care and stay in touch with their doctors. He added however, that it is not right to create panic that the person will get a heart attack or different things.

Speaking on the heart attack symptoms which a person can notice, Dr Ashwani Mehta, Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said that corona infection impacts the heart directly. Several Covid-19 patients witness chest pain, discomfort, breathing issues, etc.
He said that several other problems arise after Covid like dilated cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, etc.
Talking about the common symptoms he said that breathlessness, chest discomfort, swelling of the feet are very common. He said that several patients have normal heart pumping but their pulse rate increases or falls drastically.
On the topic of precautions a person can take post-recovery, Dr Naveet said that patients who are severely affected or who already have any kind of heart or lung problems should contact their doctors.
While Dr Ashwani said that patients who already have heart problems or are at high risk should take their medicines properly. Secondly, they should alert the doctor on noticing any kind of symptoms discussed above.
Dr Chandrakant Lahariya, Public Health Policy Expert and senior epidemiologist said that a person should know that after recovery there could be some kind of problems in the body. He said that along with physical health a person should also take care of his/her mental health.
