Ambulance rates fixed in Bihar—check how much you will have to pay for small, bigger vehicles distance wise
As reports have been surfacing of ambulance operators charging exorbitant charge for carrying Covid 19 patients to hospitals, Bihar government has decided to cap rates of these ambulances.

These charges will depend on size, category of the vehicle and distance required to cover. This decision by Nitish Kumar government comes a day after after he announced complete lockdown in Bihar till May 15.

As per Bihar health and transport department order, the rates for both AC and non-AC ambulances are being fixed now. "While the ambulance operators can charge Rs 1,500 for a small non-AC vehicle for up to 50km (including both sides), a maximum of Rs 2,500 can only be charged for bigger vehicles with AC," said the order. "Rates will vary depending on the category of vehicle," the order added.
As on Wednesday, Bihar has over 11,0431 active cases, while 4,10,484 patients have recovered and 2,926 deaths have been reported from the state so far.
The country has been regularly reporting around 3.50 cases on daily basis.
On Wednesday, Maharashtra reported record 920 COVID deaths, the highest single-day fatality so far. Similarly, Karnataka recorded the highest ever single-day count for the state by recording over 50,000 new coronavirus cases and nearly 350 deaths in the last 24 hours.
