Ads on Ola, Uber cabs likely to be cheaper in Delhi soon
Under the new policy, ad rates will be decided on cabs numbering over 400-500 cars at one go, and it would be cheaper in comparison to common rates, the report said citing official sources.
The North Delhi Municipal Corporation is likely to come up with a new advertisement policy following a controversy over putting ads on Ola-Uber cabs. The new advertisement policy will be implemented especially for app-based companies, said an NBT report.
Under the new policy, ad rates will be decided on cabs numbering over 400-500 cars at one go, and it would be cheaper in comparison to common rates, the report said citing official sources.
The companies interested in issuing advertisement would also find it easy and will also be spared of any action, said the NBT report.
A senior official from North MCD's advertisement department told the newspaper that MCD was not able to cover such cars under its tax net, therefore, the new policy is being approved.
However, under the new policy whether it is one car or 1000 cars, the advertisement rate is uniform, he reportedly added.
Earlier this month, MCD took action against action against 29 such vehicles after discovering that cab-based aggregators and vehicles are violating advertisement policies.
Notably, MCD had found that no payment was being made by them to civic bodies, as per the outdoor advertisement policy.
