Under 7th CPC, government hiked salaries and allowances for over 1 crore employees and pensioners under its ambit. It was the most awaited development, which improved the lifestyle of government employees significantly. A new 7th pay commission pay matrix was approved under 7th CPC, which is very simple and easily comprehensible and also quite transparent. Hence, it becomes very important for the government employees to understand how much is their 7th Pay salary.
While the 7th pay commission pay scale for current serving employees saw a maximum increase of 16% in their salaries, interestingly, it is pensioners that gained the most as their income was hiked by 23.63%.
Under 7th pay commission, those who fall under pay band of level 1, which has a grade pay of 18000 and earn basic pay between Rs 21,000 to below Rs 30,000, then this is how much your 7th Pay salary should come around. Remember HRA is calculated as per the population in a particular city.
If basic pay is at Rs 21,500 and the government employees reside in Mumbai, then HRA would come in at 24%. This would mean including basic pay of Rs 21,500 along with HRA of Rs 5400, Rs 1935 DA and Rs 981 TA, then the 7th Pay salary comes in at Rs 29,816.
If basic pay is at Rs 22,100, then your HRA comes at Rs 5400, DA at Rs 1,989 and TA of Rs 981 , this leads to an overall 7th Pay salary of Rs 30,470.
If basic pay is at Rs 22,800, then your HRA comes at Rs 5,472, DA at Rs 2,052 and TA at Rs 981. Your 7th Pay salary stands at Rs 31,305.
If basic pay is at Rs 23,500, then your HRA comes at Rs 5640, DA at Rs 2,115 and TA of Rs 981. Hence, your 7th Pay salary stands at Rs 32,236.
If basic pay is at Rs 24,200, then HRA as it is Rs 5,808, slightly higher DA of Rs 2,178 and TA at Rs 981, makes your 7th Pay salary at Rs 33,167.
If basic pay stands at Rs 24,900, then HRA and TA of Rs 5,976 and Rs 981, along with slightly higher DA of Rs 2,241 will be the result. Hence, your 7th Pay salary comes at Rs 34,098.
If basic pay is at Rs 25,600 then HRA as it is Rs 6,144, meanwhile DA comes at Rs 2,304 and TA at Rs 981, makes your 7th Pay salary at Rs 35,029.
If your basic pay stay stands at Rs 26,400, then your HRA would come at Rs 6,336 along with DA of Rs 2,376 and TA of Rs 981. This would make your 7th Pay salary at Rs 36,093.
If your basic pay stay stands at Rs 27,200, then your HRA would come at Rs 6,528 along with DA of Rs 2,448 and TA of Rs 981. This would make your 7th Pay salary at Rs 37,157.
In case, if your basic pay comes at Rs 28,000, then your HRA would be of Rs 6,720, DA of Rs 2,520 and TA as usual Rs 981. This would make your 7th Pay salary at Rs 38,221.
For those who have their basic pay at Rs 28,800, will get HRA of Rs 6,9112, DA of Rs 2,592 and TA of Rs 981. Then their 7th Pay salary would come around Rs 39,285.
A basic pay of Rs 29,700, will attract HRA of Rs 7,128, DA of Rs 2,673 and TA of Rs 981. The employees who earn this basic pay should get 7CPC salary around Rs 40,482.
Finally, for those who earn basic pay of Rs 30,600, your HRA would be at Rs 7,344, DA at Rs 2,754 and TA at Rs 981. This will make your 7th Pay salary around Rs 41,679.
It needs to be noted that, the higher your basic pay would be, the higher will be your HRA and DA.
The above mentioned basic pay will see higher 7th Pay salary, if it falls under travelling allowance of higher TPTA cities where it is seen at Rs 1,472.
From the above it can be said, that central government employees will see an over Rs 10,000 hike in their basic pay under 7th CPC. For those who fall under basic pay of Rs 21,000 to Rs 30,000, will see their 7th Pay salary between Rs 29,000 to Rs 43,000.
