The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2021 to October 10, 2021, in view of the COVID-19 situation in the country.

The UPSC aspirants can check the notification regarding the postponement of UPSC Prelims Exam 2021 by logging in to the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

The UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021 was initially scheduled to take place on June 27, 2021. The notification issued by UPSC reads, "Due to the prevailing conditions caused by the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Union Public Service Commission has deferred the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021, which was scheduled to be held on 27th June 2021. Now, this Examination will be held on 10th October 2021."
The online registration process for appearing in the UPSC Prelims Exam 2021 started in the month of March 2021. The last date for online registration was March 24, 2021.
The UPSC aspirants must note that the number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 712 which include 22 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
The UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021 candidates must note that various other competitive exams have also been postponed due to the COVID-19 situation in the state. The NEET PG 2021 exam which was scheduled to take place in the month of April has been postponed. The JEE Main 2021 April and May session exams have also been postponed because of the surge in the number of coronavirus cases in the country. The UGC NET 2021 exam which was scheduled to take place in the month of May has also been postponed.
It must be noted that the eligible candidates will be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website at upsconline.nic.in for downloading by candidates. The candidates must note that no Admit Card will be sent by post.
