UP schools, colleges students ALERT! Important online classes update for you

All schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh have been ordered by the state government to commence online classes for students from Wednesday, May 20.

The decision has been considering the issue that students in the state do not miss out on their set curriculum amid the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. However, online classes will not resume for students of primary classes.

Earlier, on May 10, an order was issued by the state government asking to suspend online classes for all educational institutions amid a surge in Covid-19 infections.

As per a report by Zeenews, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that the academic work in schools was earlier stopped from April to May 20, which will be considered as summer vacation and online classes will be conducted in schools from May 20.

No notification has been issued by the state government yet for the resumption of physical classes in schools and colleges.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday, May 15 had decided to extend the partial corona curfew in the state till May 24 considering the rising Covid-19 infection.

The decision was taken a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a virtual meeting with top officials of the state to review the Covid-19 situation. 

As per the data, Uttar Pradesh recorded a total of 10,682 new corona cases and 311 fatalities on Sunday, May 16. The total caseload in the state now stands at 16,19,645 while the death toll has reached 17,546.
