Summer vacation in Delhi schools from today till THIS date

In the view of increasing Covid 19 cases in the national Capital, the Delhi government has decided to prepone summer vacation in all schools from May 11 to April 20. As per Delhi government, now summer vacation in Delhi schools has been announced from April 20 to June 9.  

Earlier, Delhi school summer vacation was to start from May 11 and continue till June 30.

"In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the summer vacation has now been rescheduled and will be observed from April 20 to June 9," the Directorate of Education (DoE) said in an order. 

"Summer Vacation during Academic session 2021-22 were to be observed from 11.05.2021, Tuesday to 30.6.2021. Now, in view of COVID pandemic conditions, the Summer Vacation for the same academic session are hereby rescheduled and will be observed from 20.4.2021 to 09.06.2021. During the vacation period, Heads of Schools are hereby authorized to call vacation staff as per requirement for any school-related work (academic, admission, examination etc.) maintaining COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Competent Authorities from time to time," reads official notification.  

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday also announced a six-day lockdown from 10 pm on Monday till 5 am on April 26, after Delhi recorded over 25,000 COVID-19 cases in a single-day.  

Also, the Delhi government had already ordered closure of schools and suspension of physical exams for all classes in view of rise in COVID-19 cases.
