Detachment from physical classes and exams for quite some time now is causing inconveniences for the students to cope up with the offline classes. Jessica Gomes Surana, principal of Loreto Convent, Entally told The Telegraph that while writing the papers, students are constantly putting their heads down which make evident their tiredness and lack of confidence.
Schools were reopened in West Bengal from February 12 for classes 10 and 12. At present, many schools are conducting the pre-board exams while certain schools have scheduled their pre-board exams from March.
The online classes and exams have made the students more accustomed to shorter papers as a result of which the students have grown out of habit of writing in a formal ambience. The masks have also added to their discomfort as the students have been constantly requesting the teachers if they can take off their masks.
Several school authorities are allowing the students to lower their masks for a short time.
In lieu of this adjustment, the students are also worried over the fact if the schools will allow them to sit for their board exams if they perform poorly in any of the school exams. There are also apprehensions among them if their poor performance will affect their final exams.
Psychologists feel that it is natural for the students to be tense at this time.
According to psychiatrists, students now should realize the fact that they have to return to their schools.
