The recruitment process had started last week following the declaration of the TET results on February 16.
The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) issued a notification for recruitment in 16,500 vacant posts on December 23, 2020.
It was also announced that the TET-qualified candidates with minimum educational and training qualification can apply for the posts.
A merit list of 15,284 vacancies for the post of primary teachers in West Bengal was declared. The interview for the recruitment took place in the month of January and went on for almost a week.
Following the declaration of the results, several candidates complained about discrepancies in the merit list and approached the court.
Many selected candidates had already received the appointment letter but following the High Court ruling on Monday, there are also uncertainties about their future.
