NTA NEET UG 2021 Exam: Putting an end to anticipation, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday announced that the NEET UG 2021 will be conducted on September 12, 2021. The application process for the prestigious medical entrance exam will begin today from 5 PM. The interested candidates must keep an eye on the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) at nta.nic.in, as well as the official website of NEET UG 2021 at ntaneet.nic.in.

On Monday, July 12, 2021, Union Education Minister put up a series of tweets from his official Twitter handle announcing that the NEET UG 2021 will take place on September 12, 2021. He tweeted, "The NEET (UG) 2021 will be held on 12th September 2021 across the country following COVID-19 protocols. The application process will begin from 5 pm tomorrow through the NTA website(s)."

It has to be remembered that the NTA made the announcement of NEET UG 2021 on March 12, 2021. In that public notice, it was mentioned that the NEET UG 2021 Exam will be held on August 1, 2021 in pen and paper mode. However, due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country, the registration process for NEET UG 2021 was delayed. NTA also postponed the JEE Main 2021 April and May session exams.
However, as the number of COVID-19 cases decline, last week, NTA announced the resumption of the JEE Main 2021 April and May session exams. Regarding the NEET UG 2021 Exam, the Union Education Minister further tweeted, "In order to ensure social distancing norms, number of cities where examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198. The number of examination centres will also be increased from the 3862 centres used in 2020."

Pradhan also informed that strict COVID-19 protocols will have to be followed. He tweeted, "To ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols, face mask will be provided to all candidates at the centre. Staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration, proper sanitisation, seating with social distancing etc. will also be ensured."

The registration and online application process of NEET UG 2021 Exam is set to begin from today 5 PM. The NEET UG 2021 candidates must note that they need to keep certain documents handy for filling the online application form. These documents are as follows:
1) Scanned image of the latest passport size photograph of the candidate
2) Scanned image of the candidate's postcard size photograph
3) Scanned image of the candidate's signature
4) Scanned image of the candidate's left hand thumb impression
5) Scanned image of Class 10 passing certificate
