NIT Admission 2020: For students whose year has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, here is latest news about how they will be impacted as far as criteria for admission to NITs is concerned. This is for all those eyeing JEE Main 2020 exam. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) admission criteria for the academic year 2020 has been changed. In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Ministry for Human Resource and Development (HRD) has announced to scrap the eligibility criteria to secure minimum 75 per cent marks in 12th class Board exam. The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokriyal 'Nishank' informed about the decision through a tweet.
The tweet said, "Attention JEE Main aspirants! For admissions in #NITs & other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, apart from qualifying #JEE Main, the #eligibility is to secure a minimum of 75% marks in XII Board exams or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations."
