According to a report by News18 last week, it is expected that the exam dates for the JEE Main 2021, NEET UG 2021 and Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2021 will be announced in the next two weeks. This is expected as the Ministry of Education on Monday held a meeting with Vice Chancellors of various universities. The meeting was held days after the central government cancelled the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021.
Due to the pandemic situation, the NTA decided to conduct the JEE Main 2021 Exam in four sessions. The February and the March sessions of the JEE Main 2021 Exams have been completed and the results have been declared. However, the April and May session exams had to be postponed due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases all over the country.
For NEET UG 2021 Exam, the NTA had released a notification on March 12, 2021, informing that the NEET UG 2021 Exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode on August 1, 2021. However, the registration for the exam has not yet been started. The notification mentioned that information bulletin consisting of detailed information and the submission of the application form was supposed to start on the official NEET website at ntaneet.nic.in, however, nothing has started yet.
Now, there is a question among many regarding whether these competitive exams could be cancelled. In this context, in an interaction with India Today, a senior government official said, "The government is aware that the entrance examinations need to be conducted. Unlike the board exams, they cannot be cancelled because college seats are filled up on a competitive test basis."
The NTA will hold a review meeting to take a decision on the medical entrance and engineering entrance exam dates. As per an ANI report, the JEE Main 2021 April and May session exams are most likely to be held in July to August according to some sources and reports. Also, it is known that the NTA will announce the dates for the remaining two sessions of JEE Main 2021 Exams at least 15 days before the exams. The JEE Main 2021 exam dates for April and May sessions will be rescheduled later and will be announced on the official website.
Till now, no official announcement has been made regarding the JEE Main 2021 April and May session exams and the NEET UG 2021 exams. Hence, the aspiring candidates must check the NTA website regularly at nta.nic.in for any latest updates related to the exams.
