CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 Latest News: The CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 students all over the country were eagerly waiting for decision on the board exams after Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank chaired a meeting on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Goa, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi and State Education Ministers, State Education Secretaries, Chairpersons of Examination Boards , Administrators of Union territories, Secretaries of Higher Education Department and School Education Department of Government of India, Chairman CBSE, UGC and AICTE, DG NTA and several other officials.

The Maharashtra Education Minister has proposed for a 'non-examination route' for the class 12 students because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted from his official twitter handle, "In the meeting convened by the Centre regarding conduct of class 12th #CBSE exams, I raised the following points..." She then informed about the points raised by her through a chain of tweets. She tweeted, "Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic situation & the projection that children are vulnerable to new strains of coronavirus, option of a "NON-EXAMINATION ROUTE" for class 12th students should be actively examined."

In the meeting, conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 and other state board exams was one of the main important issues for discussion. As per the press release from the Ministry of Education, while a broad consensus was there, however, it was decided that States and UTs may like to further examine the matter and send their feedback in writing by the May 25, 2021.
Gaikwad highlighted the fact that the health and mental well-being of the students and their families must be prioritised. She further pointed out the fact that the students and the parents have been sharing their concerns on the sitting for the exams amidst the pandemic. Gaikwad write on her twitter handle, "Students have been studying in class 12th for over 14 months. Personally, I believe that we should remove the uncertainty regarding exams & take a decision that is in student's interest."
Gaikwad also pointed out the fact that as most of the professional courses conduct entrance exams for admissions, many experts are of the view that it is possible to evaluate the performance of a 12th class student on the basis of a retroactive assessment model.
On April 14, 2021, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had notified that the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 has been postponed and that further information with regard to the same board exams would be given to students by June 1, 2021.
